Blood in Pee Causes, Treatment and more

Blood in Pee

Seeing blood in pee can be a cause for major concern. That being said, this is not always a serious issue. Of course, no matter what the problem, you need to make sure that you get it checked out. You never know if you are experiencing blood in pee due to a serious health concern, or something that is easy to treat.

Experiencing blood in pee is known in the medical world as hematuria. While this is not always an area of concern, it should be taken seriously until a qualified doctor pinpoints the issue.

There are two types of bloody pee. First off, there is the blood that is visible by the human eye. This is known as gross hematuria, and if you suffer from this, you will notice during urination. The other type is known as microscopic hematuria and in this case the blood is only visible under a high powered microscope. Obviously, this is not something that you will be able to see during urination. Instead, your doctor will have to send your urine to the lab for it to be examined.

No matter what, it is important to determine why you are experiencing blood in your pee. Treatment for this problem depends largely on the cause. If this problem is occurring due to strenuous exercise it will usually subside on its own within a day or two. On the other hand, if the problem is due to a more serious medical condition it can linger on until taken care of.

Having blood in pee is a serious issue and cause for concern. If you are experiencing this issue, take the time to research the problem on your own, and of course, seek immediate medical attention.
