Blood in Pee Causes, Treatment and more

Does Blood in Pee Hurt?

Does blood in pee hurt? This is a common question that many people ask. This holds true for those who have experienced this problem, as well as those who worry about this due to a related issue. Generally speaking, having blood in your pee is not going to hurt. That being said, you may feel discomfort due to the issue that is causing the blood to appear in your urine.

For instance, you may have blood in pee if you suffer from kidney stones. While the actual blood in your pee is not going to hurt, the act of passing a stone could be quite painful. This is why it is important for you to get checked out if you notice that your urine is tinted red or pink.

As you may know, there are two types of blood in pee. They include gross hematuria and microscopic hematuria. With gross hematuria you will be able to actually see the blood as you urinate. On the other hand, with microscopic hematuria the blood is not visible unless examined under a microscope. If you are suffering from this variety and are not having any pain, you will never know.

All in all, blood in pee does not usually hurt. If you are experiencing pain, it is more than likely being brought on by the condition that is causing blood to appear in your urine. But remember, just because blood in pee does not cause discomfort does not mean that you should ignore it. You want to make sure that this problem is checked right away by your doctor so that any necessary tests can be ordered.
