When to Seek Care
If you notice blood in your urine, you should seek immediate care. Although most cases of hematuria are not serious, you never want to take the chance. There are some medical conditions, such as cancer and kidney stones, which can lead to blood in pee. It is better for your doctor to catch these issues sooner rather than later.
In most cases, blood in urine is not accompanied by pain or other symptoms. That being said, you should not put off making an appointment with your doctor. It is better to have this issue checked out and diagnosed right away than to let it linger in hopes that it will subside on its own. Sometimes it will, sometimes it won’t so you are much better letting your doctor diagnose the cause.
